Stella's odd choice of campaign backdrop!

We all know that Stella McCartney is an animal lover but her new Spring/Summer 2010 campaign takes it to new levels! It features extremely busy model of the moment Natalia Vodianova with....a Dalmatian. The model is shot sporting a beautiful asymmetric print Summer dress against a background of a Dalmatian dog. In reality this sounds a bit of a strange combination but I love the contrast, the faded grey backdrop and the black and white spots create a unique contrast to the colourful dress and it works! The campaign has moved on from her previously using cartoon animals and I think its a great campaign.

A few favourites!

As I post about campaign I see recurring themes and notice particular ones I like, this mood board just shows a quick collection of ones that have stood out to me so far. I like the adventure and out doors feel that Balmain and Louis Vuitton express and the choice of models also draws my attention, Daria Werbowy and Lara Stone are both models of the moment and have a great modern attitude but are still extremely sexy. I also like the way the images are placed on white background giving the sense that they are Polaroids...they give me hope for warm weather! Chanel campaigns always stand out to me and their new one for Spring 2010 holds a romantic and sensual feel. The collection is beautiful as always and I like the classicness of the campaign against the casual backdrop. I always like black and white campaigns and Matthew Williamson and Dolce and Gabbana portray glamour in different ways using black and white. Williamson uses a classic silhouette which shows off the fabrics and patterns. Dolce and Gabbana surprise us by showing Madonna carrying out household tasks but the gritty and retro reality of it is alluring. Over all I have seen some fab campaigns and am excited to see what more brands and designers come up with!

Daria Werbowy for Balmain

Along with a handful of other prestigious deals Polish model Daria Werbowy has secured her place as the face of Balmain for their Spring/Summer 2010 campaign. For this collection the bold and structured shoulder remain but take on a more military twist with armour styled garments and khaki colours. Daria perfectly embodies the feel and attitude of Balmain and portrays the young traveller/warrior look brilliantly, it makes me want to get out an travel. The shoot shows Daria posing against a Land rover in black leather trousers and a trademark strong shouldered khaki jacket.

New Dolce and Gabbana image

After the initial shock of seeing superstar Madonna carrying out various housework tasks for the Dolce and Gabbana Spring Summer campaign more images have been released showing Madge in various other 'normal' situations! She is seen hanging the washing out and stroking a cat...obviously looking extremely glamorous the whole time! Although I'm not usually a huge fan of Madonna I do like the relaxed and dates atmosphere of this campaign. Take a look at some of the new images...

Clooney's girl for Cavalli

The new Spring/Summer campaign for Cavalli has been launched and it features George Clooney's actress and model girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis. She models the new lingerie range and looks confident and glamorous infront of the camera. The shoot adds sex appeal with a boudoir themed background and Canalis posing beautifully on a velvet sofa. The campaign was shot by photographers Mert and Marcus. Cavalli is a huge fan of the model saying: "Elisabetta has always worn my creations - her feminine and Mediterranean beauty naturally leads her towards being my vision of a woman. I discovered that she is a perfect model and she was very confident in front of the camera - that was really a surprise for me as I have always met Elisabetta at informal occasions"

Becks replaced by Ronaldo for Armani

I have just posted about Megan Fox replacing Victoria Beckham as the face of Armani underwear and denim and now its Davids turn! Becks has been replaced by fellow footballer Christiano Ronaldo to feature in a just as sexy campaign. Ronaldo flexes in the Armani collection and is showing off some very toned muscles! I don't know how Posh and Becks are feeling about being replaced by younger models but they are looking fantastic. Georgio Armani said: "For me, her is the essence of youth - spontaneous, exciting, a real maverick".

Matthew Williamson's Angel

Looking further into the fashion future images from the Matthew Williamson pre Autumn/Winter 2010/11 campaign have been launched. It features current Victoria's Secret Angel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and she is looking very much the angel in these pictures. The balck and white images show the her modelling the heavily decorated and extremely elegant pieces which include maxi cocktail dresses and statement jackets.

Williams says: "I chose to work with Rosie for my pre autumn/winter collection shoot as she wears a lot of Matthew Williamson and always looks fantastic in it."...I Agree!

Megan Fox tones down for Armani Campaign

Actress Megan Fox is the new face of Armani for Spring/Summer 2010 and I think she's looking great in the new images. She is modeling the Armani jeans and lingerie collections and although she still stares seductively into the camera her usual heavy make had been toned down. Her many tattoos have also been digitally removed for a more innocent look. Her figure looks amazing and the use of black and white sets a nice contrast. Replacing Fox's usual sex bomb attitude is a new grown up and sophisticated attitude which really suits her. I prefer this campaign the the previous featuring Victoria Beckham and like the calmer and unobvious sexy theme Armani have adopted.

Eva Mendes doesn't dissapoint in new Calvin Klein Campaign

Eva Mendes and Jamie Dornan return for another season with Calvin Klein, only this time modeling the denim collection. But if your worrying that the images aren't as steamy as their previous fall lingerie campaign then don't! Mendes wears tiny hot pants in one shot ensuring there is still a lot of flesh on show and Dornan has his short off throughout. Both are covered in baby oil and are sliding around in the sand...Calvin Klein have not failed at bringing us another sexy campaign. The colours are very muted and leave you craving for the summer months!

Dree Hemingway's looking Fabulous!

Following campaigns for the likes of Abercrombie and Fitch and DKNY the beautiful Dree Hemingway is the new face of Gianfranco Ferre's latest campaign. The inspiration behind the campaign was to express "the free and fearless nature of an utterly feminine women" and I think this certainly does the job. The campaign features Dree glamorously balanced on a rail showing off a brilliantly structured black dress. It puts a daring twist on the little black dress and I love both the garments and the campaign. The shoot was done in black and white to show "light fluid fabrics, alternating volumes and fine asymmetrics" and was taken by Dutch photographers Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadi.

Top brands battle for Karlie Kloss

American beauty Karlie Kloss is welcoming a busy year after being chosen by both Dior and Hermes for their Spring/Summer 2010 campaigns. The Hermes campaign features her asleep on a pile of Hermes scarf covered pillows...and I don't blame her, as just 16 years old she has a lot of work on! The campaign uses Hermes laid back feel and the bright and ethnic colours really stand out against the contrast of the calming backdrop.

However Kloss' campaign for Dior takes on a more glamorous approach. Inspiration is taken from American film and stage actress Lauren Bacall, the images show Kloss recreating her sultry looks in a slightly retro looking theme. The campaign, shot by photographer Craig McDean, is sophisticated and does Dior justice!

Emma Watson back for Burberry

Due to my love of Burberry and Emma Watson I am very pleased that she has been signed up to appear in the Spring/Summer 2010 campaign! Again the campaign is shot by the legendary Mario Testino and features Emma alongside models George Craig, Matt Gilmour, Max Hurd...and her brother, Alex Watson! The campaign is shot against a classical white background with models wearing the Burberry trench as well as next seasons beautifully draped women swear collection. The images are also quite big on accessories with a strong collection of bags and belts being included. Burberry stay true to their English roots and have yet again produced a smart and sexy campaign!
